Pediatric Sports Medicine is a specialized form of physical therapy for children or teens who suffer an injury while playing sports or have an illness that affects sports performance and/or regular exercise, physical activities, or hobbies.
We enjoy working with children of all ages to decrease symptoms of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction so they can return to playing, running, and being kids! A thorough initial evaluation is performed to assess the cause of pain/dysfunction and gain a full understanding of the level of performance the patient is returning to. Manual therapy and specific exercises are utilized, along with modalities as needed, to decrease pain and improve the patients’ tolerance of activity and sports. Kids have fun learning new exercises to keep their bodies healthy!
